Building Inspections

Building Asset Owners will benefit from Inspection Reports which empower the owner to respond to defective and noncompliant building work. Inspection Reports work to identify and shift the risk of costly fixes back onto the builder.

01

Practical Completion Inspection [PCI]

This is a comprehensive inspection of the built project before handover to the Owner.

Construction defects and design departures are captured in a detailed report with photographic evidence.

Referenced documents will include National Construction Code, relevant Australian Standards, DMIRS Guidelines, and the Contracted Design Documentation.

The PCI Report is used to ensure all defects and design issues are recorded for rectification by the Builder and or Developer.

02

Building Warranty Inspection [BWI]

This is a comprehensive inspection of the built project before expiry of the 6-year Building Warranty period.

Fundamental building faults and developed defects are captured in a detailed report with photographic evidence.

Referenced documents will include National Construction Code, relevant Australian Standards, DMIRS Guidelines, and the Design Documentation.

The BWI Report can be used to get Major Defects fixed by the Builder at the Builder's cost.

03

Pre-purchasing Inspections [PPI]

This is an inspection of an existing building before settlement and handover to the new Owner.

Construction defects and design departures are captured in a detailed report with photographic evidence.

Referenced documents will include National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards.

The PPI Report can be used to get Major Defects fixed prior to settlement at the existing Owner's cost.
